A Tradition To Last For Decades
A noodle making tradition within the First United Methodist Church, located in Franklin, has lasted for decades...but why? It began in the late 1960s, when two groups from the United Methodist Women, aka The Rotary Women, began making weekly lunches for members of the Franklin Rotary. It was clearly a hit, because they decided, to then serve chicken with these homemade noodles, at their first Bazaar (aka Annual Marketplace). The Rotary Women went to work, and the tradition of making homemade noodles began. Around this time every year, you will still find members of FUMC, making and selling these special noodles at their Annual Marketplace, to raise funds that support missions and other needs. You can join the Franklin United Methodist Church, making noodles this Tuesday, October 8th, at 9:00am! Or you can buy their noodles at their Fall Marketplace on Saturday, November 2nd, from 9am-2pm.
